The QUESTION
I want to create a Display Ad campaign for a product and target different countries but I am having issues with the budget.
This is what I have done:
I set up a single campaign for US, Australia, Argentina, Chile, and Brazil and created two Ad Groups:
– 1 (affinity audience+topic+demographic) – estimated size 100M-500M
– 2 (in Market audience+demographics+topic) – estimated size 100M-500M
I set the default max CPC to €0.50 and the campaign daily spend to €20 and I got the status message ‘limited by budget’.
Google Ads suggested that I should have increased the daily budget to €65. I did so, but then I got the same status again. The suggestion this time was to increase the budget to €200 daily. This amount is really high and I can’t afford it.
Can you help me figure out how to solve this issue? What’s the best way to proceed?
Is the audience I’m trying to reach too big? Would it make a difference in creating different campaigns for each country?
Should I pick one city for each country to narrow the audience down?
If the problem is not with the audience, can you help me figure out what I’m missing?
The ANSWER
We recommend creating a single campaign for each country. It is possible that your budget cannot sustain all that traffic. We suggest defining the budget that you want to spend and start with it. For the beginning, you have to narrow your audience and start with one country and specific cities.
Remember to increase or decrease your budget based on the results you’re trying to achieve.
